Jack Frost 2 continues the bizarre and darkly comedic tale of the killer snowman who once terrorized the small town of Snowmonton. After the first film’s events, Sheriff Sam Tiler is still haunted by the memory of Jack Frost, even though everyone else believes the threat is gone forever. To help him recover, Sam’s wife Anne convinces him to join their friends on a relaxing Christmas vacation to a tropical island resort, a place as far away from cold weather as possible. Sam reluctantly agrees, hoping the warm sun and calm beaches will help him forget his nightmares.
Meanwhile, back on the mainland, scientists accidentally resurrect Jack Frost while attempting to analyze his remains. Their experiment goes horribly wrong, allowing Jack to reform and escape with his murderous instincts stronger than ever. This time, Jack discovers he has gained new abilities, including the power to survive in warm climates, making him even more unpredictable. Knowing Sam is on vacation, Jack sets out for the island, determined to take revenge on the man who defeated him.
As the vacation begins, Sam tries to relax, but strange events start occurring around the resort. Guests go missing, mysterious ice appears in places where it shouldn’t, and Sam experiences a growing sense of dread. Though no one believes him at first, he becomes convinced that Jack Frost has returned, despite the impossible heat. His paranoia worries his friends, but the truth soon reveals itself in terrifying fashion when Jack begins his first attack.
When the killer snowman fully emerges, chaos takes over the once-peaceful island. Jack uses his new powers to form deadly icicles, create snowstorms in the middle of the tropics, and even split into smaller snowball-like creatures that attack the guests. Sam, Anne, and their friends scramble to understand how to stop him now that the cold is no longer his weakness. Their efforts lead to a series of comedic yet dangerous encounters as they attempt everything from traps to improvised weapons made from beach supplies.
Eventually, the group discovers that Jack now has a strange vulnerability linked to bananas, which unexpectedly disrupt his mutated chemical structure. With this bizarre discovery, Sam and the others create a desperate plan to lure Jack into a trap involving banana smoothies and freezing equipment. After a chaotic final showdown, Jack is finally defeated in an explosive and ridiculous fashion befitting the film’s tone.
In the end, the survivors try to return to their vacation, exhausted but relieved. Though the island begins to recover from the mayhem, Sam remains cautious, knowing that with Jack Frost, the threat may never truly melt away.
